Welcome to my Web Page! I am currently a postdoctoral fellow at MIT, working with professor Aude Oliva in the Computational Visual Cognition Lab (Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences). I did my graduate work at Harvard University with professor Patrick Cavanagh in the Vision Sciences Laboratory (Department of Psychology).
My primary area of research is visual perception and cognition. In broad terms, I aim to understand the limits and capacities of human visual attention and memory. More specifically, in the domain of attention I have explored how low-level factors determine the number of objects that can be attended to concurrently, and how we perceive objects both inside and outside the focus of attention. In the domain of memory, I have explored how much information or detail can be maintained in working memory and long-term memory, and how high-level concepts affect the capacity of memory.
My approach broadly aims to understand how online perception, attention, and working memory processes interact with long-term memory representations to form an integrated visual cognition system.
